An Improved Assay Method for Serum Vitamins A and E Using Fluorometry

Hansen, Leland G., and Warwick, Warren J.: An improved assay method for serum vitamins A and E using fluorometry. Am J Clin Pathol 70: 922–923, 1978. A micromethod for assay of serum vitamins A and E with the use of fluorometry is described. The procedure is a modification of previously described methods eliminating two potentially hazardous reagents, hexane and lithium aluminum hydride, as major components. Comparison with previous methods using n-hexane shows good agreement, as well as satisfactory precision.
