Long-Wavelength Phonons in Liquid Helium

Abstract
High-resolution neutron-scattering measurements have been made of long-wavelength-phonon energies ω in liquid helium at 1.1 °K as a function of wave vector Q. The results are approximately described by ω=cQ(1γ2Q2δ4Q4), with γ very small (<2×1036 g2 cm2 sec2) and δ=(2.4±0.2)×1075 g4 cm4 sec4.
