Factors Controlling the Rate of Injection of Contrast Media in Angiocardiography

Abstract
A method of measuring the average rate of flow of fluid through a cardiac catheter is described. The rate of flow of water and 3 angiocardiographic contrast media are measured and compared. The effect of the temperature of the contrast medium upon the rate of flow is measured. The flow rates obtainable through 3 types of cardiac catheter are compared. Relative merits of 3 types of cardiac catheter for angiocardiographic work are discussed.
