Abstract
The design of a novel cascadable CMOS analog IC archi- tecture that implements the Backward Error Propagation algorithm is described, Forward and backward propagation signals coexist simultaneously in this unclocked system, and internal analog weights are stored as charges on capacitors. This IC will speed up convergence of this algo- rithm many orders of magnitude over conventional software implementations, allowing a variety of applications to be tested in layered learning experiments. Keywords
