Abstract
A simple method for the isolation of crystalline catalase from human red cells with a yield of about 25% of that present in the red cell was described. The crystalline enzyme had a Kat.-f. of 63,000 and a hematin content of 1.15%. The sedimentation constant was 11.26 x 10-13. The mol. wt. was calculated to be 220,000 from the hematin content. There were 4 hematin groups / mol. and no verdohematin present. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
