To the Editor: Even though changes in the OKT4/OKT8 ratio have been described by many different groups of researchers in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) as well as in healthy persons considered to be at risk for this disease,1 , 2 the factors leading to these changes are not well understood.
