Abstract
A very rapid photooxidation of added mammalian cyto-chrome-c by chromatophores of Rhodospirillum rubrum with added ubiquinone (UQ) as the electron acceptor is shown. Reduced UQ reduces the oxidized cytochrome-c both chemically and enzymically in the dark, making the system reversible. Keywords
