Use of Perchloric Acid Filtrate and Stabilized Anthrone for Determination of Serum Glucose

Abstract
A rapid, accurate and sensitive method for the detn. of serum sugar in the perchloric acid filtrate is described. The mechanism of the reaction on the basis of recent spectrophotometric evidence, and previous aldehyde-phenol condensation is presented. Stabilization of the anthrone by refrigeration of the acetic acid soln. permits the use of a calibration curve.
