(d,He3) Reaction on the Chlorine Isotopes at 23.35 MeV

Abstract
Levels in S36 and S34 up to about 8-MeV excitation energy have been studied with the (d,He3) reactions on Cl37 and Cl35, respectively. Spectroscopic factors have been extracted for four states in S36 and ten states S34. The levels at 4.58 MeV in S36 and 4.09 MeV in S34 may be the 1+ states that shell-model calculations predict at 5.75 and 4.97 MeV, respectively. Considerable d52 strength is seen to the states between 4.71 and 8.0 MeV in S34, but very little is observed in much the same region of excitation in S36.
