Migration and Distribution of Crosslinking Reagents in Cellulosic Substrates Part I : A. Semiquantitative Approach for Studying Crosslinking Reagent Distributions in Cellulose

Abstract
A positive method of staining crosslinked cellulosic substrates using Rhodamine B is described. The results of stainings with Rhodamine B are related to the overall distribution of the crosslinking reagent in the substrate, and a semiquantitative way of extracting a distribution parameter is suggested. Several experimentally induced distribu tions of the crosslinking reagent in cotton are interpreted with the aid of this parameter.
