Abstract
Describes a set-up designed to realise the coupling of thermogravimetry and X-ray diffraction methods. It consists essentially in a symmetrically moving theta , theta X-ray diffraction source and counter goniometer, a controlled high-temperature and pressure cell, and a zero microbalance adapted for coupling. This apparatus allows the simultaneous recording of data relative to the mass and the structural change of a single sample. Possible applications lie in the study of nonstoichiometric phases, nonstable intermediate phases, correlation between structure transformation kinetics and decomposition kinetics. Keywords
