Derivation of S-(–)-, and R-(+)-10,11-epoxyfarnesol from S-(–)-10,11-dihydroxyfarnesol

Abstract

Optically pure S-(–)- and R-(+)-10,11-epoxyfarnesol have been prepared from S-(–)-10,11-dihydroxy-farnesol obtained stereospecifically by metabolism of (±)-epoxyfarnesol by Helminthosporium sativum.
