An Upper Limit for Atomic Orbital Electron Ejection AccompanyingK-Capture inFe55

Abstract
An upper limit has been determined for the number of atomic orbital electrons ejected during the decay of Fe55 by orbital capture. From cloud-chamber observations it is concluded that less than 0.6×106 electron are ejected per disintegration with energies in the range 30 kev to 205 kev. The theoretical prediction gives the order of 106 electron per disintegration for the frequency of the process in the energy range studied.
