Abstract
The results of extended field radiotherapy (EFR) in the treatment of Kaposi''s sarcoma are reviewed. During the 22-yr period under study, 54 patients with Kaposi''s sarcoma were seen; 38 were treated with EFR. Thirty patients had spontaneous Kaposi''s sarcoma; 8 had received immunosuppressive therapy. Extended field radiotherapy is compared with both local methods of radiation and chemotherapy in the treatment of Kaposi''s sarcoma. EFR evidently is the treatment of choice because of its simplicity, high disease control rate and lack of complications in patients without systemic disease manifestations. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
