Three-Dimensional and Stereoscopic Observation of Body Structures by Ultrasound

Abstract
Previous work by this group has produced cross-sectional pictures of the interior construction of normal and pathological living tissues, by the use of pulsed ultrahigh frequency sound. This new method makes it possible to view the object studied from any angle to the front or above without changing the position of the ultrasonic equipment with respect to the object studied. The change in projection is achieved by completely electronic means. The advantages of the method are described. This equipment is being used to study normal and pathologic soft tissues of patients.
