Abstract
Results obtained in this study show, a) that irradiation with u.-v. light has little direct effect upon comb growth, b) that exposure to artificial light during short periods of time daily does not induce greater comb growth than long daily exposure to similar light, and c) that, of the methods studied, the most effective means of inhibiting growth of combs on cockerels confined indoors is to maintain the environmental temp. at a low level.
