Urinary Excretion of a Pterin after Administration of Pteroylglutamic Acid.

Abstract
There is a significant increase of xanthopterin (I) in human urine after oral or intramusc. admn. of pteroylglutamic acid. I does not occur in a free state, but as pro-xanthopterin which is converted to I when irradiated with u.-v. light at pH 7-8, or by heating to 100[degree]C for 10 mins.
