Abstract
Following a brief description of the general morphology, habits and social groupings of C. senegalensis, as well as a description of the climatic conditions in which this species is found, a laboratory to facilitate naturalistic observations of the behavior of the species was constructed. The physical description of the laboratory is described in detail. The diet, general care of the animals and maintenance of the laboratory is also described. Some preliminary observations on initial adjustment, behavior and general health were made to indicate the suitability of the laboratory as a means of maintaining the species in good health for naturalistic observations of behavior.
