Abstract
Widths of six rotational lines of SO2 with J i ranging from 3 to 16 have been measured. Linewidths have been calculated theoretically on the basis of the Anderson theory, and an assessment of the relative importance of different interactions has been made. Calculations have also been done on the basis of the Murphy–Boggs theory. The theoretical and experimental linewidths are found to agree well.
