Gonococcemia and Its Cutaneous Manifestations

Abstract
A case of gonococcemia in a female patient with fever, arthritis, and characteristic cutaneous manifestations is presented. Similar findings were noted in the patient's husband, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae was cultured from both partners. Gram-negative diplococci were seen in histopathologic sections of a typical skin lesion. The subject of cutaneous manifestations of gonococcemia is reviewed.
