To the Editor: We questioned personnel of 25 blood-gas laboratories at community hospitals in Los Angeles County. Fourteen laboratories report all blood-gas and pH values corrected for the patient's temperature, six report all values at normal body temperature 37°C, two report all values at both temperatures, and three report some values at either temperature.There is no problem with bicarbonate or oxyhemoglobin saturation, because these values are quantities or concentrations that do not notably vary with temperature.
