Abstract
A study was made of the reaction of the leucocytes in 10 cases of parturient paresis and to the injection of 250 I.U. of ACTH after an initial attack of parturient paresis in 3 cases. There is a decrease in the lymphocytes and eosinophils and an increase in the neutrophils in parturient paresis. The authors concluded that parturient paresis produces a stress which causes an increase of secretory activity of the adrenal cortex. Keywords
