Abstract
Summary Complete and partial anal incontinence and complete rectal prolapse tax the ingenuity of the surgeon and the well-being of his patient. Electromyographic evaluation of the sphincter has been helpful in rehabilitating it where possible or in selecting an appropriate surgical repair procedure when indicated. Keywords
