Additional data has been presented on successful enhancement of virulence of H. pertussis. Pertussis vaccines may be tested in mice in a relatively inexpensive way. Successful results in mice have yet to be correlated with satisfactory clinical results in human beings. Several passive protection tests in mice inoculated with H. pertussis have been described.
