Adding animal protein factor (APF) (Lederle) or crystalline aureomycin to milk or milk substitutes up to 8 weeks of age increased the avg. wt. gain from 0.9 to 1.1 lb. daily. The incidence and severity of scours was less in calves fed the antibiotic.
