Histological Methods for the Demonstration of Gold in Tissues

Abstract
Two methods for the demonstration of Au in tissues are descr. Tissue is fixed in neutral formalin, embedded in paraffin, sectioned and run down to water, then incubated for 24 hrs. at 56[degree] C in a mixture of 10 pts. of 5% SnCl2 2H2O and 1 pt. concentrated HC1. In the 2d method, the sections are incubated for periods varying from 24 hrs. to 6 days at 37[degree] C in 3% H2O2. After both methods, sections are washed, run up, and mounted in damar.
