Fukuda's Stepping Test: A Preliminary Report on Reliability

Abstract

Results are presented, of Fukuda''s Stepping Test done on normal subjects, that are in contradiction to Fukuda''s observations and raise certain questions as to the present concepts of normal vestibular activity. In the light of these results and supportive evidence cited in the literature, Fukuda''s Stepping Test and similar tests should be interpreted with caution; perhaps a revision of the present concept of vestibular activity is indicated.
