Abstract
Anabasine formed by photosynthesis of excised leaves of N. glauca in C14 is uniformly labeled. Glucose-U-C14 may be used as an ultimate precursor for the anabasine. Neither lysine-2-C14 nor hydroxylysine-6-C14 are major precursors of the pyridine ring of anabasine. Radio-trigonelline is not formed during photosynthesis of excised soybean leaves in C14O2. 3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid-7-C14 does not appear to be a precursor of trigonelline in the excised soybean leaf. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
