Abstract
The ESR absorption curve for the Mn2+ ion in an aqueous glass is structureless and almost symmetrical, with a width of 800 Oe between inflections. The theory of the Mn2+ spectrum in a single crystal with tetragonal symmetry can be related to this result by averaging over random orientations and choosing the value 300 Oe for the axial splitting parameter D.Keywords
