Abstract
A counter unit and external quenching circuit for use with carbon dioxide and carbon disulfide mixtures are described. The counter unit consists of a long and short counter to eliminate end effects. The quenching circuit, which depends on the action of a multivibrator, enables the voltage across the Geiger‐Mueller counter to be reduced in a controllable manner by any desired amount and for any desired time.Keywords
