Abstract
Each of 5 strains of Streptococcus diacetilactis contained variants unable to form acetoin and gas from citrate. The variants differed from parent-type bacteria by not producing citrate permease. Their production of citritase distinguished them from S. lactis and S. cremoris. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
