ALCOHOL DIURESIS

Abstract
Oral admn. of C2H5OH produces diuresis in intact but not in hypothalamic-diabetes-insipidus dogs. The effective dose was about 0.5 g. Ethanol injd. into the carotid artery is effective in dosage of 0.05 g. Ethanol also reduces the antidiuretic effect of intraven. acetylcholine.
