Abstract
In fertilizedXenopus eggs, shortly after egg rotation but well before the occurrence of the cleavage-associated “surface contraction waves”, two circular dark zones originate consecutively from the pigment spot marking the site of sperm entrance. They expand and travel centrifugally over the egg surface.Keywords
