Observation of the d1Σ+–b1Σ+ system of NH and ND in the vacuum ultraviolet

Abstract
New emission bands of NH at 1708.4 Å, 1801.0 Å, and 1814.4 Å and ND bands at 1683.1 Å, 1695.2 Å, 1750.4 Å, 1761.0 Å, and 1771.9 Å are assigned to the d1Σ+–b1Σ+ transition. Revised vibrational constants (in cm−1) for the b1Σ+ state are ωe = 3347(NH), 2447.5(ND), ωexe = 70.7(NH), 37.9(ND).
