II. Treatment of Flexner-Jobling Carcinoma in Sprague-Dawley Rats with 2,4,6-Triethylenimino-s-Triazine (TEM)

Abstract
The Flexner-Jobling tumor was transplanted and allowed to grow for various periods of time in the Sprague-Dawley rat. Regression of the tumor in 70% of the rats resulted from treatment with 2, 4, 6-triethylenimino-s-triazine. There were no spontaneous regressions in the untreated rats, the tumors growing until death of the animal. All of the rats in which the tumors regressed completely were normal and resistant to further implants of the tumor. No manifestations of toxicity were seen to the therapeutic dose of TEM used and there was no evidence of carcinogenesis of the drug.
