In some snails (Neritina, Nerita, etc.) of this family capsules to contain the eggs are made by coordination of digestive and reproductive organs, the latter making a conchin-like secretion, the former supplying reinforcement of mineral particles stored in a sac. These capsules have some taxonomic value.
