Abstract
Paper chromatograms containing glucose developed with n-propanol-ethylacetate-water and dried were drawn through a solution of aniline hydrogen phthalate (400 ml isopropanol, 6.64 g phthalic acid, 3 ml aniline) and air dried at 115[degree] for 15 minutes. The stained areas were cut out, extracted with glacial acetic acid and its absorption measured at 480 mu in a spectrophotometer. For 50-250 mg of glucose, the coefficient of variation was 0.72%.
