Abstract
The surface current injection technique can provide low cost, in situ EMP testing of aircraft systems. It has not provided adequate simulation quality in the past, however. This theoretical study was undertaken to find surface current injection technique configurations capable of quality simulation. A configuration capable of quality simulation was found. It compared favorably with conventional EMP simulation techniques when both were measured against theoretical threat aircraft responses. Some preliminary experimental results further confirm the capabilities of this configuration while validating the theoretical predictions. Keywords
