Abstract
A brief review is presented of the predicted intensities of gamma radiation from celestial objects. This is followed by a discussion of the use of a balloon-borne spark chamber to measure these intensities and to study the background gamma-ray intensity at 2.8 atmospheric pressure over Texas. Keywords
