Carboxylesterase aus Rinderlebermikrosomen, II. Dissoziation und Assoziation, Molekulargewicht, Reaktion mit E 600

Abstract
The carboxylesterase from beef liver was chromatographed on a column of DEAE-Sephadex. Two enzymatlcally active peaks were obtained. The determination of molecular weight (gel filtration on Sephadex G-200) showed that the 2 peaks represented a monomeric and dimeric form of the enzyme. The molecular weight of the dimer, as determined by ultracentrifugation, was 167,000. The stoichiometry of the reaction with E 600 shows that the dimeric form has 2 active centers and the monomer has 1 active center.
