Effects of Pilocarpine on Exchange of K42 in Slices of Submaxillary Gland.

Abstract
Summary The presence of pilocarpine led to an increase in loss and uptake of K42 in slices of rat submaxillary gland incubated under selected conditions. The influence of pilocarpine on the loss of K42 was found to be inhibited in the presence of atropine. These effects on the exchange of K42 in slices bear at least a qualitative resemblance to effects known to occur during stimulation of salivary glands in vivo.
