TOLERANCE OF LIQUID-AIR TEMPERATURES BY SEEDS OF HIGHER PLANTS FOR SIXTY DAYS

Abstract
19 common kinds of seeds, such as peas, corn, spinach, beans, and cucumbers, subjected to liquid air temps. for 30 and 60 days, germinated as well and produced as satisfactory seedlings as the control seeds. It is concluded that the water in these seeds (ca. 10%) is in the form of "bound water.".
