Abstract
Papaverine increased the levels of both cyclic nucleotides. Dibutyryl cyclic [c] AMP inhibited the contraction produced by dibutyryl cGMP, dose dependently. cAMP increased by an inhibition of cAMP phosphodiesterase inhibits the stimulating action of cGMP produced by an inhibition of cGMP phosphodiesterase. The nonspecific inhibitory action of papaverine on the guinea pig taenia is mediated by an increase in cAMP, as a result of inhibition of cAMP phosphodiesterase. The nonspecific antispasmodic action of Aspaminol is not related with the intracellular levels of cAMP and cGMP.This publication has 15 references indexed in Scilit:
