Abstract
Until we know the complete life cycle of Toxoplasma, we will be ignorant of many other facets of this interesting organism, and of the epidemiology of the infection it produces in man and animals. However, with our present knowledge we should be able to explore more throughly some of its metabolic characteristics and their relation to its requirements for intracellular sites. Undoubtedly, in addition, more information will accure on the diseases it produces, on the mechanisms of pathogenesis, and on chemotherapy. It, and its probable relatives, Besnoitia, Sarcocystis, and others, comprise a vague and fascinating area of protozoology.
