Clinical signs in deep-vein thrombosis

Abstract
Forty-eight general surgical patients were examined for deep venous thrombosis for the first 5 postoperative days, both by the 125I-fibrinogen scanning technique and clinically. The results indicated that over half of the patients developing deep venous thrombosis could be accurately diagnosed by taking a combination of two or more of the following clinical signs: pain, tenderness, and oedema.
