Abstract
The effect of short-range order on the paramagnetic exchange broadening of magnetic neutron-scattering cross sections is investigated theoretically by expanding the second moment of the energy transfer in inverse powers of the temperature. The results are applied to terbium, where it is found that the first temperature correction gives a substantial improvement in the agreement between theory and experiment. Keywords
