Abstract
The effects of NaCN in concentrations of 10-3 to 10-12[image] on Earle''s Strain L cells were studied. In 10-4[image] NaCN, growth was inhibited by 97.4% but in 10-8 [image], growth was enhanced and exceeded that of the controls by 17%. In 7x10-4[image] NaCN, a concentration stronger than that necessary to stop growth, some respiration continued although at a very low rate[long dash]14.7% of control. Keywords
