Abstract
A method permitting the simultaneous measurement of Vo2 and Vco2 in sea-water animals is presented. It is based on the laws of solubility of gases in liquids. It can, therefore, be used on very small animals (0.3 g), like sea-living worms (Perinereis cultrifera Grube). Although the method is simple to handle, it requires great attention as far as some factors are concerned, among which are temperature and the choice of solubility coefficient.
