O18-Induced Transfer Reactions

Abstract

${}_{}{}^{18}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$-induced reactions on ${}_{}{}^{40}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ca}$ and ${}_{}{}^{54}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Fe}$ have been studied at 48 MeV. The one- and two- proton pickup reactions were observed with large cross sections. Systematic and unexpected differences are found in the angular distributions to different final states. The reaction ${}_{}{}^{40}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ca}$(${}_{}{}^{18}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$, ${}_{}{}^{14}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}$) ${}_{}{}^{44}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ti}$ yields spectra remarkably similar to those found in the (${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$, ${}_{}{}^{12}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{C}$) and (${}_{}{}^{20}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Ne}$, ${}_{}{}^{16}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{O}$) reactions.
