Abstract
Direct and indirect sources of stimulation were investigated in order that they might be controlled or accounted for in a study of conditioning. The effects of muscular, mental, and glandular activity were studied as well as the more direct oral stimulation of various types. Evidences of natural conditioned reactions to food were obtained and an inviting approach to cortical functioning indicated.
